According to WRAL, the Goldsboro Police Department received reports of gunfire at 2205-B E. Ash St. around 3:15 a.m. Officers arriving at the scene found 39-year-old Derrick Maye with gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to UNC Health Wayne, where he later died from his injuries.
