A motorcycle crash in the South Side of Pittsburgh has left a man hospitalized after his bike struck a curb yesterday morning. According to CBS News Pittsburgh, the incident, which occurred just after 3 a.m. at the intersection of East Carson Street and Arlington Avenue, was attributed to a loss of air in the motorcycle's front tire.
The rider, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition; however, his status was later updated to stable. WTAE reported that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Pittsburgh Public Safety officials have begun an investigation into the cause of the accident, preliminarily indicating that air loss was a significant factor leading to the rider's loss of control.
