Community engagement is heating up in Maple Grove this weekend, with an open invitation from the local Fire-Rescue team. According to a social media post by City of Maple Grove, MN - Local Government, residents can get a taste of fire service life during the open house at Fire Station 2. Slated for Sunday, July 20, from noon to 4 p.m., the station will throw open its doors for a range of activities, including demonstrations and family fun.
Diving right into the thick of it, visitors can enjoy complimentary refreshments from 12-4 p.m., providing a casual backdrop for mingling with the defenders of our safety. Sadly, while honoring those who've fallen in service, a memorial service is planned for 1 p.m., but the somber tone will be sweetened with free treats like Jonny Pops offered post-ceremony.
The City of Maple Grove has emphasized the importance of connecting the community with its firefighters, showcasing the latest firefighting equipment and offering insight into the day-to-day heroism that often goes unnoticed. Tailored for all ages, the afternoon includes water ball and a bounce house from 1:30 to 4 p.m., ensuring that even the youngest of visitors find delight in the day's program.
Station 2 is located at 13450 Maple Knoll Way, and this event, open to the public, underscores a commitment to fostering a strong bond between fire service professionals and the communities they protect. With activities for the kids and fueled by local offerings like Jonny Pops, this Open House is shaping up to be a family affair that celebrates more than the mere quelling of flames.
