On Monday, the Mobile Medical Education Unit was at Kalama Park in Kihei to provide services to Maui residents, especially those experiencing homelessness. The Maui Police Department shared that the services included mental health support, food stamps, non-critical wound care, clothing, and other assistance.

Support from community partners contributed to the day's activities. Aloha House provided information to seven individuals seeking help with substance use and mental health. Dr. Ricalde-Garcia conducted blood pressure checks, treated non-critical wounds for two participants, and handed out medical care kits. The Maui AIDS Foundation provided health education to eight participants and offered free STD testing, as reported by the Maui Police Department.

According to the Maui Police Department on their Facebook page, the Mobile Medical Educational Unit will continue to be at Kalama Park in Kihei throughout August. Services will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and are intended to provide support and access to services for houseless residents.
