The division, lauded at an annual awards banquet, took home the inaugural Crown Award for exceptional management of a large-scale industrial discharge system. Moreover, they secured a Platinum Award for ensuring that no waste from the Foxhole Landfill entered the sewer system for five or more years.
Charlotte Water bestowed these honors on a facility that is chiefly a destination for business and commercial refuse. Mecklenburg County Solid Waste's commitment to operating without a single sewer system infringement demonstrated their resolve to actively protect our waterways. This achievement is commendable, particularly since they've managed to consistently do so over a span of five consecutive years.
