Memphis has been hit by yet another late-night theft, this time at a business specializing in rapid deliveries. According to the Memphis Police Department, the American Expediting Business, situated at 3144 Connahbrook Street, fell victim to a robbery early Monday morning. Around 3:00 a.m. on July 19, 2025, officers arrived at the scene of the crime after being alerted to the situation.
The officers quickly learned that two suspects had brazenly driven a U-Haul pickup truck into the business's rear area. It's reported that the duo worked in tandem to steal nine propane tanks, a haul estimated to be worth around $2,700.00. The description provided by authorities paints a clear image of the suspect responsible for directly snagging the tanks - a White male with a distinctly gray beard, who was attired in a black shirt with "R&C Garage" boastfully printed on the back, paired with blue jeans. The second suspect's role might have been to simply drive, but their identity stays shrouded in uncertainty.
The Memphis Police Department has not yet cracked the peculiar case of the night robbers and is urgently calling upon the public to offer any shred of information that could lead to solving the incident. "Anyone with information about this incident should call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH," the department's plea echoes across their notification channels.
While the motive behind the curious theft of propane tanks remains to be deciphered, the impact of such crimes surely ripples through the local economy and poses an added burden to hardworking proprietors. The business community and local residents are urged to remain vigilant and to promptly report any form of suspicious behavior in an effort to ultimately deter another such incident from easily transpiring. With heightened awareness and cooperation, Memphis seeks to reaffirm the sanctity of its businesses against the darkened backdrop of opportunistic crimes.
