
The Germantown Police Department announced an arrest in connection with a recent robbery at an Exxon gas station on S. Germantown Road. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Keith Wilkins from Memphis, was apprehended by the Germantown SWAT Team and Germantown Police Department Drone Unit on Wednesday evening. This collaborative effort pooled resources from Germantown Police Department Detectives and the Germantown Special Enforcement Team, leading to the successful capture of Wilkins.
According to a Facebook post from the Germantown Police Department, the robbery took place on Tuesday, approximately at 3:57 p.m., where a male subject—now confirmed as Wilkins—entered the store, brandished a handgun, and forcefully took cash from a register. The prompt response of patrol officers instigated what became the genesis of a broader investigative operation. The Germantown Police Department expressed gratitude towards the Bartlett Police Department Crime Suppression Unit and the Memphis Police Department Appling Farms Task Force for lending a hand in the arrest.
Wilkins is charged with Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and False Imprisonment. His bond is set at $250,000. Germantown Police Department are still investigating to understand the full details and any possible connections Wilkins may have had.
