
The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in identifying a suspect involved in a recent assault in Northeast Washington, D.C. The incident occurred on Thursday at approximately 1:48 p.m., when a male suspect struck an individual from behind with a tire iron.
According to details released by the MPD, the assault occurred in the 1300 block of Florida Avenue, Northeast. First District officers arrived on the scene following reports of the incident. In response, the D.C. Fire and EMS transported the individual to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
The department has since released a surveillance photo of the suspect, which is being circulated in hopes that members of the public can aid in identifying the individual, the image can be viewed on the MPD's official website.
The police urge anyone with information about the suspect, or the case to exercise caution and directly contact law enforcement. Tips can be communicated to police by calling (202) 727-9099, or tips can be texted to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. Moreover, a reward of up to $10,000 is on offer by the MPD, for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons behind the violent crime.
