Relief swept through the community of New Berlin as missing 54-year-old Timothy Wolter was found unharmed. The New Berlin Police Department had previously issued an appeal for assistance when Mr. Wolter, who has cognitive disabilities, walked away from an adult day care facility last Friday morning. In a statement shared on their Facebook page, the department expressed their gratitude to everyone who engaged in the search: "****UPDATE**** Mr. Wolter has been found safe and sound. Thank you to everyone who shared this post!"
Prior to this resolution, details about Mr. Wolter's disappearance had been widely circulated. Members of the public were informed through the department's alert that Wolter left the day care facility located on the 2000 block of S. 170th Street at around 10:30 AM on Friday. His description was provided in the notice as being a male 5'8" tall, weighing 180lbs, with brown hair, and blue eyes. They informed that he was last noticed wearing a green/blue baseball cap, a blue sweatshirt over a black t-shirt, blue or grey sweatpants, and was carrying a tan backpack.
The call for public assistance included a request for any sightings to be reported directly to the New Berlin Police Department, with contact details readily supplied. Concerns for Mr. Wolter's wellbeing were particularly heightened due to his cognitive condition, although it was noted that he is capable of communicating and speaking.
