Before dawn, the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s 124th Recruit Class began physical training on the city’s streets. Divided into groups of eight, recruits completed a series of fitness challenges aimed at building strength and teamwork. The Missouri State Highway Patrol shared information about the day’s training on their social media account.
The social media post detailed the challenges, which included 10-minute rowing intervals where each calorie burned counted as a point; a boat carry event in the parking lot scored by laps completed; a 150-pound backboard carry using the same scoring method; and team synchronized burpees, with one point awarded for each successful repetition. These exercises aimed to test both physical endurance and teamwork under pressure. The winning team achieved a score of 1,294.75 points, reflecting their physical readiness and coordination as a group.
While each recruit faces individual physical challenges, their combined efforts contribute to effective response in critical situations. The Missouri State Highway Patrol emphasizes the development of strength and coordination through both mental and physical training.
