
Montgomery County officials are probing a tragic incident that occurred last Friday night, when a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Columbia Pike. The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Yaovi Magloire Guedoh from Frederick.
According to Montgomery County Police Department, the collision took place at approximately 10:34 p.m. at the juncture of Columbia Pike and Tech Road. Responding to the scene were officers from the 3rd District, alongside Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel. It was there, authorities say, Guedoh met his untimely end while crossing the street in a westerly direction,
The driver involved in the deadly collision was operating a black 2020 GMC Terrain and remained at the scene following the event. Preliminary investigation efforts have yet to clarify why the vehicle came into contact with Guedoh, who was pronounced dead on site despite immediate life-saving attempts by the responders.
An active, and ongoing investigation is underway by the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) detectives, who are fervently piecing together the circumstances that led to Guedoh's death.
