The Napa County District Attorney's Office has charged Angwin resident Aaron Brian Kennedy, 35, with the murder of his 10-year-old son. According to an official social media post from the Napa County District Attorney's Office, Kennedy faces a grim list of charges, including murder, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and several counts of DUI causing injury, among others, stemming from a collision that claimed the life of his son Aiden.
With a prior history marked by DUI offenses, the charges against Kennedy highlight a collision that occurred last Friday, on Chiles Pope Valley Road at its intersection with Barnett Road near St. Helena. Kennedy, who had been driving with a blood alcohol content above the legal limit, collided with another vehicle, resulting in minor injuries to its driver and fatal injuries to his son, who was a passenger in Kennedy's vehicle.
The consequences of Kennedy's alleged actions are reflected in the myriad of charges laid out by the DA, which include child abuse and assembly, maintenance, or placement of a booby trap. Kennedy, currently recuperating in a hospital due to injuries sustained in the crash, was administratively booked while he awaits transportation to jail. A court appearance has been set to address these charges as soon as his medical condition permits.
