
A Nashville mother is now behind bars following a violent altercation with her teenage daughter. According to the Nashville Police Department, 39-year-old Chantrell Allen was arrested early this morning after allegedly shooting her 16-year-old daughter in the hand during an argument.
The dispute, which had escalated from the previous night, reached a harrowing peak when the teenager barricaded herself inside her bedroom on Susannah Drive. Police state that Allen fired a shot through the bedroom door around 3:20 a.m., injuring her daughter. The victim, finding the strength to flee the apartment, was transported by a private vehicle to Centennial Medical Center to receive medical attention for the gunshot wound.
Upon arrival at the residence, responding West Precinct officers encountered a clear case of intoxication and defiance as Allen was deemed uncooperative. The mother was subsequently detained and charged with aggravated child abuse and gun possession while intoxicated. Her bond has been set at $105,000. Due to the severity of the events, the Police Department’s Youth Services Division has launched an in-depth investigation.
