Nashville authorities are on the lookout for the driver of a silver minivan following a road rage incident that resulted in a child being shot. Detectives are calling upon the public for assistance in identifying this heavyset woman driving what could be a Chrysler Pacifica. According to a news release from the Nashville Police Department, the altercation took place last Saturday afternoon at a busy local intersection, with the exchange escalating to gunfire.

The incident unfolded when a father, driving a Cadillac Escalade with his 12-year-old daughter aboard, attempted to merge into the left lane on Clarksville Pike, but the minivan driver sped up, preventing the merge. This led to a heated exchange of words and the minivan driver not moving at a green light, causing the father to maneuver around it. After this action, two to three gunshots were heard, one of which wounded the 12-year-old passenger. The victim's injuries are reported as non-critical.

The incident happened while the family from Memphis was heading to their short-term rental in Nashville. Surveillance footage at the intersection showed part of the minivan with the Escalade behind it. Police are now reviewing more business cameras to find clearer images that could help identify the suspect.

The Nashville Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the whereabouts of the vehicle or suspect, who was last seen wearing a white sports bra. She is described as a heavyset Black woman. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still qualify for the reward as detectives continue their search.
