The Nashville Davidson County Register of Deeds Office is opening its doors to the public at its new location. The 'Open House' event is scheduled for Thursday, August 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 300 Deaderick Street, Nashville, TN, with a ribbon-cutting slated for 10:30 a.m. As detailed on their official website, the office, which has undergone an extensive 13-month renovation, invites the community to explore a range of services during the open house.
The remodeling project, backed by a multitude of construction teams including CPS and Barge Design Solutions, echoes the open workplace concept championed by tech giants Google and Microsoft. This initiative, according to the Register of Deeds, is set to foster greater collaboration and transparency in a government setting. The office now boasts nearly 15,000 square feet of renovated space designed to adapt to evolving customer needs with efficiency.
There are several core services that patrons can expect, including access to archives like microfilm, microfiche, and old index books. Future additions, slated to arrive later this year, will include Real ID Licenses, Passports, and a Veterans ID booth for simplified access to service cards instead of DD214 documents. "We are excited to host an 'Open House' so that the public can become familiar with our new home and get acclimated to all of the services currently being offered as well as new ones expected later in the year," Johnson stated on Nashville’s official Register of Deeds website. Johnson further emphasized that remaining cutting-edge leaders in service efficiency is a priority.
The office's move from the Bridgestone Arena in May of last year, their base of operations for over two decades, marks a return to their historical roots near the Historic Metro Courthouse. Attendees of the open house can anticipate not only an introduction to the facility's modern amenities but also enjoy Hors d'Oeuvres and take advantage of complimentary parking available at both the Deaderick Street, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard entrances.
