For New Braunfels residents planning their early morning commute on Wednesday, take note of upcoming road closures that could affect your drive. Castell Avenue, a central thoroughfare running between San Antonio Street and Bridge Street, will be off-limits from the stroke of midnight until 9 a.m., announced by the City of New Braunfels. The closure will allow for street resurfacing, part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the city's infrastructure.
Additionally, those heading towards or from the heart of town might need to rethink their route as Torrey Street will also be blocked to traffic. The stretch from Elizabeth Street to Union Street is scheduled for closure from 7 in the morning, stretching out until 7 in the evening on July 16. Motorists should brace themselves for impacts on traffic flow and plan for potential delays.
City representatives highlight that these disruptions are temporary but essential for the long-term benefit of the community’s thoroughfares. While the inconvenience is noted, the emphasis remains on the safety of workers and drivers throughout the construction period. Modified traffic patterns and detour signs will guide drivers around the construction zones, aiming to minimize the hassle as much as possible.
