Early this morning, a newborn baby was discovered in the driveway of a home on Lido Street in Orlando. As reported by ClickOrlando, the one-week-old boy, cradled in a car seat, was found around 7:20 a.m. and has been confirmed to be in good health at a local hospital.
The incident has prompted a community-wide appeal, encouraging residents to review any surveillance footage that might offer clues to identify the infant's family. While the search continues, the Orlando Police Department, as quoted in part by ClickOrlando, has emphasized the Safe Haven Law, which allows parents to safely and anonymously surrender a newborn at designated locations, such as hospitals or staffed emergency stations, without fear of prosecution.
In a similar report by WFTV, police are encouraging anyone with information about the baby or its parents to come forward. The residents of Lido Street have been especially urged to closely examine and share any potential evidence captured on their home security devices.
