The City of Newcastle has reopened the tennis and pickleball courts at Lake Boren Park after a resurfacing delay caused by contractor setbacks. The project, originally scheduled for earlier completion, left local players sidelined well into July, sparking frustration among those eager to return to summer play.
In a recent social media post, the city acknowledged the community’s concerns, stating, “We know this closure has been frustrating for those looking forward to summer play,” and thanked residents for their patience. The courts are now fully restored and available for use.
