North Las Vegas' Broadacres Marketplace may reopen on August 1 after an unexpected shutdown. Although there has been no official statement, vendors have been told to prepare. Ana Bernal, Manager of Gorditas El Fogon, told News 3 Lv,“It was literally a personal phone call to my dad, and he was like just be prepared. We are planning to open on August 1st.”

The temporary closure due to immigration concerns caused vendors to lose up to 90% of their business. “It was very stressful. Finances took a very big hit. We were losing 90% of our business,” Bernal said. Some vendors applied for financial assistance, but not all received responses. A possible reopening in August has vendors preparing to return, although some will not be coming back. “I know a few are not coming back. They either found somewhere else to do it or they just entirely given up,” Bernal said. Vendors who plan to return are getting their booths ready, according to KTNV.

Vendors are getting ready for the proposed reopening of Broadacres Marketplace, but there is still no official confirmation from management. Efforts to reach them have not been successful. During the closure, vendors have been supporting each other more. “Right now, we’ve seen a lot of unity between the vendors,” Bernal told News 3 Lv. “We’ve seen vendors that we didn’t talk to when we were there, but now they are like What is your number if anything happens? Let me know.’”
