Drivers in North Las Vegas should expect increased speed enforcement through July 20. As part of the statewide Joining Forces campaign, the North Las Vegas Police Department announced on social media that it will focus on identifying and stopping dangerous driving behaviors to help reduce crashes.
The North Las Vegas Police Department announced on Facebook that "Officers from our Traffic Division will be out in force, conducting enhanced enforcement targeting dangerous drivers who choose to ignore speed limits." The department also shared a national statistic: "In 2023 alone, 11,775 lives were lost nationwide in speed-related crashes." This enforcement effort supports Nevada’s ongoing campaign to reduce traffic fatalities across the state.
According to the North Las Vegas Police Department on their Facebook page, the department is running a speed enforcement campaign with support from a grant by the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety. Drivers are urged to follow speed limits, stay alert, and drive responsibly. The message includes the reminder, “You might save a few minutes by speeding, but is it worth a life?” More information is available through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Zero Fatalities Nevada program.
