The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has taken the reins in a homicide case in Warrenton, Georgia, following a deadly shooting incident. GBI's official release states that Charles Jeffery, a 57-year-old man from Norwood, stands accused of the murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
The incident, which unfolded last Saturday, saw the Warren County Sheriff's Office responding to a distressing 911 call about a shooting at a residence on Phelps Drive. It appears that during the domestic dispute, Jeffrey allegedly fired the shots that led to the death of 38-year-old Daphne Meyers. Found dead at the scene, Meyers later, the victim's body is scheduled for an autopsy at the GBI Medical Examiner's Office.
Jeffery's arrest has led him to the McDuffie County Jail, where he awaits further judicial proceedings. Calling the investigation 'active and ongoing,' GBI encourages anyone with information to come forward.
