An unsettling display of gang intimidation came to light following a disturbance call on Fourth Street in Novato on Sunday. The Novato Police Department reported that a group of 10 masked youths tried to rob a 16-year-old, hurling gang-affiliated threats during the incident, which occurred just after 8 PM.
The assault left the victim with minor injuries, after which the suspects scattered before they could execute the theft. An ensuing investigation pinned down a 16-year-old local, previously known to the authorities and already on Marin County Juvenile Probation.
In a focused move by the Novato PD's detectives and their School Resource Officer, this primary suspect was apprehended at his residence on Tuesday. A search sanctioned by his probation status yielded evidence linked to the attempted robbery.
