The NYPD is on the lookout for suspects following a series of armed robberies that struck the Bronx last week. The first incident, detailed in a social media post by NYPD Crimestoppers, took place in the early morning of July 26, where a 21-year-old man was shot multiple times and had his necklace stolen at the corner of Schley and Brush Avenues. Shortly after, at approximately 4:00 AM, a second victim was assaulted and robbed near 3391 East Tremont Avenue. In both cases, the assailants fled in a black Dodge Durango.
The first attack, occurring around 3:40 AM, saw the victim accosted by two individuals who, after shooting him, robbed him of jewelry worth an estimated $140. Then, not more than twenty minutes later, a 37-year-old man suffered a violent confrontation that left him without his wallet, car keys, and a necklace valued at around $50. According to the NYPD Crimestoppers post, four individuals were involved in this second mugging.
These incidents have raised concern among Bronx residents and authorities alike. The nature and timing of the crimes suggest a well-organized group carrying out targeted attacks. NYPD Crimestoppers has urged anyone with information to step forward, emphasizing the anonymity and confidentiality of their tip line and direct messaging service.
The authorities have not released specific patterns or details of the perpetrators but stress the urgency in capturing these suspects before more individuals fall victim to their crimes. NYPD Crimestoppers, in an effort to solicit public assistance, stated, "Have any info? DM @nypdtips or call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477)."
The NYPD continues their investigation and has not yet apprehended any suspects related to these robberies.
