The New York City Police Department is actively searching for an individual linked to a pattern of sexual abuses in Manhattan, with two incidents recently reported in the vicinity of Houston Street. The details of the cases were made public in a social media post seeking assistance from the community, according to NYPD Crimestoppers.
The first incident took place in the early hours of May 17, when a 25-year-old woman was approached by the suspect who feigned needing directions; using his cellphone with a map on the screen as a deceptive ploy, he then assaulted the victim, the NYPD Crimestoppers reported. This man is accused of grabbing the woman's breast and waist before fleeing the area on foot.
Following closely, another attack occurred on May 18, around 1:50 a.m. when a 26-year-old woman, walking near Thompson Street, was attacked; the perpetrator ambushed her from behind, forced her to the ground, and forcefully touched her, though the woman was dressed, the assailant managed to commit the heinous act before escaping on foot, the same source detailed.
