
A burglary in Queens has prompted the NYPD to turn to the public for assistance in apprehending the suspect involved in the crime, the burglary took place on May 2, at around 9:30 P.M. The burglar reportedly broke into a residence by shattering the rear window of the kitchen in the area of Chevy Chase Street and 80 Road, as per a social media post from NYPD Crimestoppers.
Once inside, the suspect managed to pilfer a variety of valuables from the bedroom closet which included an assortment of jewelry, designer bags, and a bank card, all with an estimated value of roughly $192,000 not to mention they also made away with $300,000 in cash, according to details provided by the NYPD Crimestoppers post on Facebook. In an effort to cover their tracks, the thief went so far as to dismantle a security camera system from the basement before fleeing the scene on foot to an unknown destination.
The NYPD is requesting that anyone with information about this incident come forward and share what they know by calling the Crime Stoppers Hotline, and informants have multiple ways to contact: dialing 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) for English speakers or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish, otherwise, individuals can also submit their tips through the Crime Stoppers website or the NYPD Tips X account.
