In a rather unconventional twist within the legal community, a local attorney faces serious charges after being busted for smuggling contraband into Solano County Jail. The incident, which highlights concerns over the integrity of our justice system, has led to the arrest of a 53-year-old defense lawyer from Oakland.
Details from a social media post by the Solano County Sheriff's Office indicate that the sting operation on June 20, 2025, was the fruit of an extensive investigation conducted by their Gang Intelligence Unit, Investigations Bureau, and Sheriff’s Enforcement Team. The attorney, identified as Christopher Dobbins, was nabbed while attempting to bring prohibited items into the jail. The collaborative effort effectively prevented the contraband from affecting the facility's internal order.
Sheriff Thomas A. Ferrara lauded his team's efforts, admitting, “The Solano County Sheriff’s Office remains steadfast in our commitment to maintaining the safety and security of our facilities. This operation underscores our zero-tolerance policy for any attempts to undermine the integrity of our justice system.” The Solano County Sheriff's Office's stern commendation came following Dobbins’ arrest and booking into the same jail he allegedly tried to compromise.
