
The Oklahoma City Fire Department announced on social media the deployment of a specialized swift water rescue team to assist with the severe flooding currently impacting Central Texas. The team, designated Oklahoma Task Force 1 – OKC Metro, comprises six members with a mix of expertise from various local departments.
Oklahoma Task Force 1 – OKC Metro includes four members from the OKC Fire, one from Yukon Fire, and one from Norman Fire. They are gearing up to make their way to the Austin area tonight. According to their social media post, these first responders are well-trained and ready to provide support and rescue efforts in the midst of this natural calamity.
Additionally, the Oklahoma City Fire Department’s update states that the Tulsa team is deploying a six-person swift water crew. This coordinated effort represents Oklahoma’s emergency services extending support beyond state lines during disaster response.
