After a brief shutdown due to a payment dispute, Oklahoma state park restaurants are once again welcoming visitors. The Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department (OTRD) alongside Lookout Kitchen have reached a conditional agreement, set to task to gradually open eateries across various parks. According to a KOCO report, state officials had announced the indefinite closures last week but assured a compliant resolution with the restaurant group, Lookout Kitchen.
In the meanwhile, Lake Murray State Park is opening its doors first, with full breakfast service starting at 8 a.m. today, July 15. As reported by The Oklahoman, other locations such as Beavers Bend, Quartz Mountain, Robbers Cave, and Roman Nose state parks are following suit, with services resuming from 11 a.m. tomorrow, July 16.
With this collaborative effort to reopen the dining areas, there is confidence that Lookout Kitchen will not only recover but also prevent future fiscal difficulties. "Everything is being done to make sure Lookout Kitchen is successful," OTRD Executive Director Sterling Zearley expressed in a statement Monday, highlighting proactive measures.
