Law enforcement officials from the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence on the 18900 block of East Crestridge Circle in response to reports of gunfire at a house gathering shortly before the clock struck twelve. Upon arrival, they confirmed the deadly outcome.
The incident is currently under investigation, and as deputies labored through the night into the morning hours, they had yet to establish a suspect or provide detailed circumstances surrounding the violence. A statement obtained by 9NEWS indicated that the authorities are still piecing together what transpired at the house party.
According to Denver7, the shooting elicited a substantial law enforcement presence that persisted into the following morning. However, with no suspect information available at the time, the mystery of the perpetrator remained as opaque as the midnight skies under which the incident occurred.
The gathering, described as involving a "large group of teenagers and young adults," was estimated to be about 50 to 60 in number. Local witness and pastor Michael Gatewood recounted the pandemonium to KDVR, detailing how he endeavored to lend aid by providing sanctuary in his garage and attempting CPR on the victim, efforts that ultimately proved futile. "This violence against youth, it has to stop," Gatewood implored, urging parents to maintain vigilance over their children's whereabouts and activities in this tumultuous digital age.
