According to a statement obtained by FOXLA, law enforcement officials swiftly responded to the scene at Troy's Burgers, located on 2017 S Pacific Ave, at approximately 1:42 p.m. following notifications of an assault with a deadly weapon.
The incident resulted in one casualty, pronounced dead at the location, while the other suffered an injury to their left abdomen. A vehicle, described as a gray or black Nissan Altima, was reportedly observed to quickly leave the area. A definitive motive for the shooting is yet to be established. ABC7 detailed that the shooting transpired around 1:40 p.m. on Thursday at the hamburger stand, whereby one individual was confirmed dead at the scene and the other was transported for medical assistance, as per the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
In a related report provided by Daily Breeze, the victims, aged 19 and 44, were embroiled in a confrontation that escalated rapidly when an assailant produced a firearm and proceeded to open fire before fleeing in the aforementioned vehicle. Officer Jay Chavez shared, "The 19‑year‑old victim was pronounced dead at the scene," further noting that the condition of the 44-year-old victim remained uncertain following hospitalization.
