The Metropolitan Police Department is probing a shooting in Northwest Washington that left one man dead and two others injured. According to a press release from the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place on Monday at around 10:28 p.m. in the 1200 block of 7th Street, Northwest. Responding officers came upon a male victim who was unconscious with a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of DC Fire and EMS, he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The shooting also resulted in injuries to an adult woman and a juvenile male, both found at the scene. They were also suffering from gunshot wounds, but were conscious and breathing when they were transported to the hospital. Their injuries have been described as non-life-threatening. An article released by the MPD specified that the identity of the deceased has not yet been disclosed, pending notification of next of kin and identification by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
In an attempt to bring those responsible to justice, the police department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals involved in this homicide.
