An Orlando man was tragically killed in an early morning crash on Orange Blossom Trail in Orange County, following a collision that involved an SUV and two trucks. According to ClickOrlando, the incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. near Consulate Drive, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The driver of a Mazda CX-5, a 48-year-old man, was reported to have suddenly lost control of his vehicle and sideswiped a box truck before colliding with the back of a semi truck. The force of the impact was significant enough to cause his SUV to abruptly come to a halt, ultimately resulting in the driver's death at the scene. "Footage from the scene showed a FedEx semi-truck," ClickOrlando mentioned, indicating the involvement of a commercial vehicle.
While the man driving the SUV was not able to pull through, the other two drivers involved in the accident remained unharmed. The aftermath of the crash caused a major disruption along South Orange Blossom Trail, as investigations and cleanup ensued. WFTV covered the situation, reporting that the road was eventually reopened at the intersection shortly before 6 a.m., allowing the flow of traffic to resume with some semblance of normalcy.
