Early this morning in Orange County, a 2021 Audi Q3 veered off the road and crashed into signage and then a tree, resulting in three people being injured, the Florida Highway Patrol reported. The incident occurred on Wekiwa Springs Road, near Park Village Lane, just before dawn at 3 a.m. The driver, a 21-year-old woman from Orlando, was hospitalized with minor injuries. Still, her two passengers, a 45-year-old woman from Apopka and a 28-year-old Orlando man, sustained serious injuries, as per details provided by ClickOrlando.
The vehicle was said to be traveling at a speed exceeding the limit, and the road's curvature was its undoing. Post-incident, Juandi Soto Martinez, the driver, was arrested for DUI refusal involving serious injuries and for driving while his license was suspended.
Meanwhile, Orange County Fire Rescue had to perform an extraction to remove the passengers, cutting the roof off the Audi, as per WESH. The two passengers, who were deemed trauma alerts, were airlifted to receive urgent medical care. The condition of these individuals may have been critical, but official updates on their status following the transport are yet to be publicized.
