
A tense standoff in Pittsburgh's Knoxville neighborhood ended last night after SWAT teams took a female suspect into custody. The Pittsburgh Police Department reported responding to a domestic disturbance call at around 6:00 p.m. on the 100 block of Bausman Street, where a dispute allegedly turned violent.
According to the City of Pittsburgh news release, upon arrival, police were greeted by two adult females claiming they were assaulted by another adult female, known to them, who had a firearm. Following a briefing by victims at the scene, surrounding residences were cleared, ensuring the safety of the neighborhood.
The situation escalated when the accused woman barricaded herself on the second floor of the house. Pittsburgh SWAT was brought in to manage the crisis, deploying tactics to initiate contact. Despite multiple attempts to communicate, the woman remained unresponsive to their hails.
After several hours of deadlock, just before the stroke of 10:19 p.m., authorities succeeded in apprehending the suspect without further incident.
