Monroeville law enforcement is actively seeking a Pittsburgh teenager, identified as Joseph Varnie, 16, in connection with an attempted homicide incident that reportedly took place on Tuesday. The sequence of events began on Holt Lane in Monroeville, where, according to a victim's account to police, nearly ten individuals, along with two vehicles, blocked her path, as detailed by WPXI.
During what quickly escalated into a life-threatening encounter, it is alleged that Varnie fired multiple shots at the woman's vehicle as she attempted to escape the blockade. The woman, while unhurt, signaled that this confrontation may have stemmed from a previous altercation. WTAE detailed that, besides being wanted for attempted homicide, Varnie is also facing charges for aggravated assault and terroristic threats.
The police employed facial recognition technology to identify Varnie as a suspect.
