The new schedule, crafted with the intent to minimally disrupt library goers, strikes a balance between user needs and budget constraints. Patrons can still expect to find a serviceable mix of morning, evening, and weekend hours, according to the City of Pleasanton.
The library will reduce its operating hours and implement changes to borrowing limits and hold procedures beginning July 15. The checkout limit will be lowered from 100 to 50 items, citing a reduced budget for new materials. Additionally, holds on available items will be discontinued, and materials will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Despite upcoming changes to physical library operations, the Pleasanton Library’s digital services will continue uninterrupted.
