
A man has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbings of his wife and young daughter at their home in Ridgewood, Queens. According to ABC7 New York, 54-year-old Ernesto Cruz was charged Monday with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. The victims were identified as his wife, 41-year-old Ana Pilatagsi-Moposita, and their 2-year-old daughter, Analiz Cruz.
According to police sources, the stabbings occurred last Saturday, prompting authorities to respond to a residence on Forest Avenue around 7 p.m. Cruz was reportedly on a FaceTime call with his nephew during the incident, and the nephew contacted police after witnessing the attack. Cruz was later found with stab wounds to his chest, along with the bodies of his wife and daughter.
PIX11's report details that Pilatagsi-Moposita suffered approximately 18 stab wounds to her neck and chest, while their daughter, Analiz, was stabbed nine times. Despite the efforts by medical professionals, both were pronounced dead at local hospitals. Law enforcement officials are investigating the case as a domestic incident, not seeking any additional suspects at this time.
