
A two-alarm fire broke out at the Su Casa Apartment complex in Waipahu last Wednesday. The Honolulu Fire Department received the call at 3:07 p.m. and responded with 13 units and 48 personnel. The fire was located in a first-floor unit of a three-story residential building.
While en route, crews saw a smoke column and called for additional resources. They arrived at 3:13 p.m. and began firefighting operations using handlines and securing a water supply. Searches confirmed no residents were inside the building. Crews contained and extinguished the fire, which started on the first floor, by 3:30 p.m., according to the Honolulu Fire Department.
The fire was extinguished at 4:24 p.m. after firefighters contained it using handlines. All residents evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported among Honolulu Fire Department personnel. Firefighters checked nearby areas for any remaining fire. An HFD Fire Investigator was assigned to determine the cause, origin, and damage. A report will be released later.
