A child's inadvertent confinement within a vehicle sparked an emergency response earlier today in the 8800 block of Sailing Drive, where deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office and firefighters were dispatched at the scene. The crisis was averted when firefighters employed a lockout kit, freeing the child who had been unintentionally locked inside the car, while a visibly distressed mother was at the brink of shattering the vehicle's window in anguish and desperation, according to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman's Office.
As the incident concluded without injury, Constable Mark Herman's Office took the opportunity to remind the public of the importance of vehicle safety, especially when it involves children. The notice on their social media exhorted the community to "stay vigilant when traveling with young children and always look before you lock."
The constabulary urged the community to follow their social media for updates and to download their mobile app, “C4 NOW,” which delivers live feeds on various emergencies, including crimes, arrests, and traffic accidents to residents, thus nurturing a more informed and responsive populace.
