Rancho Cordova Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop in Lincoln Village after a vehicle failed to stop at a controlled intersection. Officers Tserov and Meier from the RCPD Motor Unit initiated the stop, which led to the arrest of the driver for weapons violations, as reported by the Rancho Cordova Police Department.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Officers stopped the driver a short distance from the scene. The driver initially gave a false identity, but officers were able to confirm his real name. He was found to have two outstanding felony warrants related to firearms violations and was arrested without further incident, as stated by the Rancho Cordova Police Department.
According to the Rancho Cordova Police Department on their Facebook page, officers arrested a man and found a loaded handgun hidden within arm's reach of the driver during a vehicle search. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for outstanding warrants and charged with being a felon in possession of a concealed firearm. The department stated, "Another example of good proactive police work by Officers Tserov and Meier as they work to keep the community safe!"
