A deadly confrontation unfolded in White Center, resulting from a collision allegedly fueled by road rage and intoxication. As reported by KIRO 7, the King County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident shortly after midnight yesterday, where a car crash spiraled into a shooting at the intersection of Southwest 98th Street and 16th Avenue Southwest.
Upon arrival, according to the sheriff’s office, two men were found with gunshot wounds. One succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, and the other man is expected to survive with non-life-threatening injuries. FOX 13 Seattle stated, deputies were quick to apprehend the suspect at the scene.
The turmoil appears to have started when a man, now under suspicion for driving under the influence, crashed into a parked vehicle. KOMO News detailed that the collision prompted a confrontation with the vehicle’s owner, during which an associate of the supposed DUI driver discharged their weapon, leading to the unfortunate outcome.
The alleged shooter's identity has not been disclosed, but they were taken into custody and booked into King County Jail on charges of murder, and first-degree assault.
