Two suspects are now in custody following a burglary at an establishment called Elite Studio and Barber on Triangle Lane. Oscar Hernandez-Bonilla, 39, from Rockville, and Osmin Ernesto Martinez Diaz, 41, of Silver Spring, face charges related to the break-in and theft that took place in the 11200 block of Triangle Lane earlier this month. On the morning of Wednesday, July 9, 4th District officers were called to the scene on Georgia Avenue after being flagged down regarding the incident.

The arrests were a result of quick work by police who recognized Hernandez-Bonilla from surveillance footage. According to Montgomery County Police, he was found near the crime location with stolen goods in his possession. Martinez Diaz was also apprehended that day following a search by officials. His detainment came with an unanticipated turn, as he had to be first transported to an area hospital for treatment of pre-existing injuries before being taken to the county jail.

Hernandez-Bonilla is currently being held on bond after being booked at the Montgomery County – Central Processing Unit (CPU). Charges include second-degree burglary and theft-related offenses. In contrast, Martinez Diaz, who faced similar charges, has been released on bond after being processed at the same facility. The investigation into the burglary revealed that the suspects forcibly entered the premises around 2:04 a.m., making off with property and fleeing the scene soon after.

Local shop owners and residents have been on edge since the incident, as commercial burglaries often shake the sense of security in a neighborhood known for its tight-knit community and local businesses. The swift response by law enforcement brings some relief to the community.
