Drivers in the Rotonda area should prepare to adjust their routes starting next week, as bridge rehabilitation work is set to temporarily close a portion of Rotonda Circle. According to a Charlotte County announcement, the southbound lane over the Pinehurst Creek South bridge will be shut down from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., beginning from next Monday through Friday, and is expected to last until August 6.
Commuters and residents will need to quickly adapt to the detour, which will clearly be marked to guide traffic around the construction area. Travel times are anticipated to increase, and the Public Works Department is urging locals to allow extra time when planning to navigate through this zone. The department further encourages all motorists to "remain alert at all times" and to "exercise caution when traveling in the vicinity of construction zones."
This infrastructure project is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the longevity of local bridges, ensuring safety and reliability for the community's commuters.
