
On Monday morning, Sacramento Police officers responded to a report of an assault in the 3000 block of Stockton Boulevard. The incident happened just before 1:30 a.m. Officers found an adult man with serious injuries at the scene, as reported by the Sacramento Police Department.
Despite life-saving efforts and quick transport to a nearby hospital by the Sacramento Fire Department, the man who was assaulted died from his injuries. His identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after notifying his next of kin. Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators handled the investigation, collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and processing the scene, as stated by the Sacramento Police Department.
According to the Sacramento Police Department on their Facebook page, an attack is under investigation, but details about suspects or motives are still unknown. Anyone with information is asked to contact the dispatch center at (916) 808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the "P3 Tips" app, and informants may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. The department will provide updates as the investigation continues.
