On Sunday in Sacramento's North Area, a man died in a shooting. Police were called to Mahogany Street and North Avenue around 3:45 a.m. for reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found an adult man with at least one gunshot wound, as reported by the Sacramento Police Department.
A person was pronounced dead at the scene after life-saving efforts by officers and fire personnel. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the person’s identity after notifying family. Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators collected evidence and interviewed witnesses. Police have not released any suspect information yet, as stated by the Sacramento Police Department.
According to the Sacramento Police Department on their Facebook page, anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the dispatch center at (916) 808-5471. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers by calling (916) 443-4357 or using the "P3 Tips" app. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information that leads to an arrest.
