Tragedy struck late Saturday night at a family gathering on the northeast side of San Antonio, where a woman was fatally shot. KTSA reports that the incident occurred around 11:50 p.m. in the 6000 block of Clematis Trail. Police officers are currently on the hunt for the man responsible for the death of Jennifer McClendon, age 44.
Investigators have spoken with several witnesses but haven't shared any details about the suspect yet. McClendon was found with a chest wound and rushed to a local hospital, where she sadly died from her injuries. No one else was hurt at the family event, which quickly turned into a crime scene, according to KTSA.
Further details were shared by KENS 5, noting that the assailant made an escape in an orange Dodge Challenger, seen fleeing from the location near Eisenhauer Road shortly after midnight.
