Yesterday, a heated dispute in Santa Rosa boiled over into an act of violence when a man allegedly fired a gun at another during an altercation. According to a post on the Santa Rosa Police Department's social media, officers were called to Pioneer Way around 7:30 AM following a gunshot report.
On arrival at the scene, near an apartment complex, law enforcement personnel located 38-year-old Cesar Pacheco, who is accused of the shooting and was still present in the vicinity; the incident is reported to have stemmed from an argument that turned physical between Pacheco and the male victim, after separating, Pacheco allegedly retrieved a firearm from his apartment and upon returning, he discharged one round at the victim, who fortunately was not hit, and no bystanders were harmed. Despite authoring search warrants for Pacheco’s residence and vehicle, the SRPD Gang Crimes Team did not succeed in locating the firearm.
