New York City Restaurant Week has returned for its summer edition, offering residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy the city’s culinary scene at reduced prices. Running from today through August 17, the program features specially priced two-course lunches and three-course dinners at participating restaurants across all five boroughs. According to CBS News New York, price points are set at $30, $45, or $60, excluding beverages, gratuities, and taxes.

More than 600 venues are taking part this year. Reservations opened last Tuesday and are filling quickly. The promotion is available Monday through Friday, with some restaurants also offering the deal on Sundays. Saturdays are excluded. A new addition for 2024 is the $16.25 “Founded By NYC” special dish or cocktail, created in recognition of the city’s 400th anniversary, as reported by CBS News New York.

Among the featured restaurants are Gramercy Tavern and Momoya SoHo, offering a fine-dining experience at a fixed price. Other participants include La Pecora Bianca, Dos Caminos, and La Mercerie, presenting multi-course menus that highlight Italian, Mexican, and French cuisine, respectively, as noted by amNewYork.

Now in its 33rd year, NYC Restaurant Week began in 1992 as an initiative to welcome political delegates and has since expanded significantly. Julie Coker, President and CEO of New York City Tourism + Conventions, told amNewYork, “This program is a reminder of what makes dining out in NYC so special; flavor, culture, and the joy of discovering a new spot on a summer evening, all at an incredible value.”

The event aims to support local restaurants during the typically slower summer season. A full list of participating restaurants is available at nyctourism.com/restaurant-week, with additional venues expected to be added through July 28. CBS News New York also notes that NYC Broadway Week and Off-Broadway Week are scheduled to return in September and October, respectively.
