The tragic death of an Orlando grandmother, Allecia Wolfe, who was found more than 600 miles from her home near a truck stop in Manchester, Tennessee, has left authorities and her family searching for answers. According to WFTV, Wolfe's body was discovered earlier this month in a location off I-24, with investigators treating her death as a homicide. The cause of death remains unclear as they await the medical examiner’s report.
Wolfe's daughter, Aleah, expressed her profound loss and confusion in a statement obtained by WFTV, "I want to know what happened, like who did this to my mom, and why." She also discussed her mother's struggles with addiction and her work as a street worker. Authorities are said to be reviewing surveillance footage from the area, but complications due to the body's decomposition present a significant challenge in determining how she died.
The mystery deepened with the revelation that Wolfe was last seen getting into a car on July 11 in Orlando, a significant detail reported by Nashville CBS affiliate WTVF, through ClickOrlando. Wolfe's body was found last Monday, near the Trucker Inn in Manchester, without any signs of gunshot or stab wounds. Wolfe's mother, Cindy Turner, in a heartbreaking interview with News 6, shared the agony of losing a child. "A mother’s worst nightmare, for your child to be taken from you like this," Turner said. "A parent always thinks that they are going to go before their children." She emphasized that her daughter's challenges should not detract from her deserving dignity and justice.
Amidst the ongoing investigation and grief, Wolfe's family clings to the imperative to find out who is responsible. Heading this plea, the Manchester Police Department is urging anyone with information about the case to come forward. Anyone with insights can call the department at 931-728-2099.
