
A hiker in his 60s experienced a medical issue on the Diamond Head Crater Trail in Kahala on Monday. According to the Honolulu Fire Department, a 911 call was received at 10:04 a.m. regarding the incident.
The Honolulu Fire Department deployed six units with 17 personnel after receiving a distress call. The first team arrived at 11:14 a.m. and proceeded on foot along the trail. A second team secured a nearby landing zone for air operations. The male hiker, who was ill and unable to continue his descent, was located at 10:31 a.m.
Honolulu Fire Department personnel provided basic life support to a hiker in medical distress and airlifted him to a secured landing zone. Medical care was transferred to Emergency Medical Services at 10:50 a.m. All Honolulu Fire Department personnel were accounted for, and no injuries were reported.
